The Bellagio: Las Vegas

While your friends envision you boarding a plane singing Iggy Azalea’s Fancy when they hear you’re headed to the Bellagio for a conference, those of us in the industry know better.

You’re about to embark on one of the addiction treatment industry’s most educational conferences. Translation? A jam packed schedule.

How do you fit it all in? We asked our resident conference connoisseur, Director of Business Development, Desmond White what three things he recommends you do to maximize your time at the 2014 Lifestyle Intervention Conference.

1.  Plan Ahead

A few days before the event, take the time to plan out your schedule. Know exactly which presentations you want to attend, which booths you hope to visit in the exhibit hall, when you’ll take breaks every day and where you plan to eat. Sounds a bit over-the-top but it’s the only way to maximize your time at the conference. Sure, you can deviate from your intended schedule as required—you have to be able to go with the flow—but failing to plan before you arrive nearly ensures that you’ll miss a speaker or exhibitor or networking opportunity that you had hoped to attend.

2.  Download the Conference App

You can customize your agenda right in this app. All that recommended planning—here’s where it becomes fool proof. The app also has its own activity feed which will highlight helpful comments, popular events, photos and more. Much easier than trying to follow numerous social media channels! This app aggregates it all for you.

3.  Be Prepared to Walk

Most think of shoes, and while yes, they’re critical—you also have to think about bags. Inevitably, you’re going to end up with a lot of “stuff” to carry around. Bring an appropriate bag to store you tablet or laptop, promotional materials and anything else you might need. Minimizing trips to your hotel rooms is a huge time saver.

A fourth? Be sure to visit the Active Internet Marketing booth while you’re there! You can find Desmond White, our Director of Business Development in booth #634. If you’d like to book a meeting with Desmond in advance, email [email protected] to setup a time. Have you spotted Desmond or our CEO, Michael Myles at the Moment of Change Event this week? Share your photos with us! Here’s a photo of our fearless leader during his presentation on Monday. If you attended, tell us what you thought!
